Morpheus

The God of Dreams

Morpheus is the one who brings us visions of the world and the state of our minds when we are asleep. He is the one who inspires us to think bigger and in new ways. He brings us rest after a long day of work and allows us to awake fresh and ready for the morning. He is in charge of dreams in all manners of speaking. He is responsible for teaching people lessons by giving them experiences they can't have in the waking world, scaring or comforting them, exposing a fear that one isn't aware of, or showing them a new way of looking at a problem they might be having.

Influence

Morpheus has no temples dedicated to him, and no priests preach his message to the masses. He has no more than rumors and hearsay going around about him, which seems strange since, in some ways, he interacts with people the most out of all the gods. Despite this, some see him as nothing more than a bringer of nightmares, and others see him as no more than a muse — a bringer of wonder, ideas, and inspiration, maybe — but not a real god, since he doesn't change anything real, does he?

The Dream

People don't worship him, but they visit his place of work regularly, most on a daily basis. Morpheus doesn't often physically enter the world; instead, when people go to sleep, they enter his world, his mind, the dream. This is the place where people receive their dreams — some happy, some terrifying, and others meant to be inspiring, to bring new ideas. This realm is the representative of Morpheus' purpose in the world: to guide and help people on their path through life, even if they themselves don't realize his presence.

Artifacts

The sleep sand is a simple bag of sand that, when thrown into someone's eyes, puts them in a deep sleep for about half a day. This is a useful incapacitation device, but be aware that those who wield the sand without care might accidentally put themselves to sleep, and this sleep is not one they shall ever awake from.   The Veil of Dreams is an elegant light grey head scarf that allows the user to act as a dream, at command. This means they can fly, change their appearance, or do anything with themselves. However, while being in this dream state, they are not allowed to alter anything other than themselves, and they cannot physically interact with the world or other people.

Personality

Morpheus is a solitary individual who does not frequently fraternize with his fellow Velen. He has a brain meant for reasoning, and empathizing with other people's emotions, this is an ability that is vital for his function as the master of dreams, because in order to give anyone the perfect dream, he first has to have intimate knowledge of them as people, and the inner workings of their brain, which requires great, godlike levels of empathy. He, unlike some of his brethren, does not judge people on life choices, or moral standpoints, he sees all people as individuals living their own life, regardless of whether they are good people or not. However, he does recognize those who act in ways to purposefully harm others, without any real goal other than to harm them, and these people he might plague with some much-deserved nightmares.
