Karoush

God of War

Karoush is the great god of conflict, he relishes in battles of the mind and of the sword He is preyed to whenever there is a conflict that needs resolution, whether that be a war, or political intrigue, even diplomatic relations. His defining quality is simply problem-solving, especially to avoid or resolve struggles. However, sometimes this can go too far, as in times of conflict, he might grow restless, and go searching for trouble, and problems to solve. This has made it so his popularity amongst mortals comes and goes as times change.

Influence

Despite his not being the most popular among the average person, he is a heroic icon, as well as a great marshall in the eyes of soldiers. To them, he is seen as their saviour, the one who carries them through battle, who strengthens their resolve, and drives their sword arm home. Because of this, the warrior culture is strong in many armies, and they often become rowdy and insubordinate in the absence of an available war to fight, saying their god was being dishonoured by inaction. This is only the case among professional soldiers though, and especially mercenaries, where his influence is felt the most.

Oracle

Rather than traditional temples or shrines, Karoush has the oracles. These are great holy oratories, buildings built for these mystical women to live in. These buildings always feature a large round elevated place, open to the sky, often surrounded by pillars with overhanging roofs, and doors that lead to the main building. Such a place is at all times lit by great braziers, and this is where the oracle communes with Karoush. Oracles are rare, and when such a scared woman is found, she is quickly brought to one of these oratories. Due to the nature of these people and this place, oratories are well guarded, and very private, with no one being allowed in except with the permission of the oracles. Their purpose is that of divination, they are capable of communing with Karoush, he doesn't speak to them exactly, instead granting visions carrying omens of good or bad times to the people.

Artifacts

The sanguine spear, is a long and elegant weapon made of red wood, and with a long narrow blade at the end. Being cut by the sanguine spear is usually deadly to anyone, inflicting them with blood poisoning, although a lucky few still manage to survive, depending on the severity of the cut, and the overall health of the victim. The metal appears bronze, but being a divine artifact, it does not share its weakness, and the weapon is quite unbreakable.   The bloodletter's axe is a more ceremonial-looking weapon, inlaid with gold and even several red stones, it was made to be as fancy as possible while still being useful. This axe increases the strength and ferocity of the wielder with every kill, although the effects wear off after a few hours. However, the use of this axe should not be taken lightly, as abuse of its power might cause the user to be lost forever in an endless battle rage.

Personality

Being a warrior, he values strength and bravery, and the resolve to solve problems. He also respects intellect and the fight for success, which he sees as just another battle in life. His personality is sometimes rash and volatile, but also cunning and calculating, courageous and uncompromising.
