Fel Ludet Settlement in The World of the Guardian Dragon | World Anvil

Fel Ludet

"The waves crash to the small docks where small rowboats and one larger ship sway. From Verity's deck, they can see the humble village whose single-storey, colourful buildings stand scattered here and there like their places had been chosen at random. Alongsides the villagers, chickens, goats and other animals walk the dusty roads.   "Verity's arrival doesn't go unnoticed, and some curious folk stop to stand at the edge of the docks to watch, point at, and talk among themselves. Under the scorching sun no one seems to be in a rush, as if the time of the people of Fel Ludet moves at its own pace."
- Merchant ship Verity's arrival to the village
Fel Ludet is a small village in the southern shores of Kiweda in Ager, located about a day's journey from the area's capital, Emizaad. It's a confusing place for an outsider due to the way the buildings are placed, but the many locals are always happy to help strangers that pass through should they look lost.   There's a river that flows through the village and into the ocean, and there are numerous rowingboats in the small docks. There are two roads that people can take north towards the city and deeper into Ager, the faster but more dangerous one taking travelers through a pass known as Cobra's Maw. The longer route is much preferred by caravans, and it also splits later to eastern parts of the lands.   The villagers' most common livelihoods are fishing and animals, but some also make money from acting as guides in the area. Experienced with the life in the dry deserts where rains do not get access, they know how to get all out of the nature around them, and often trade this information with those who are less experienced in the unforgiving terrain. The most common way of commerce in Fel Ludet is done through trade rather than gold.
