Ser Niall Hayward, son of Ser Kayden Hayward and Lady Bridget Hayward, née O'Toole, is a member of The Crownsguard protecting House Tuly. Ser Niall dreamed of being a knight loyal to his house, House Hayward, but following the death of his uncle, Lord Ralf III Hayward, and his older cousins during The Promised War, Ser Niall pledged his loyalty to House Tuly and King Wyat Tuly the Upholder knighted Ser Niall following a tournament in the city of Arandõr. Ser Niall and his older cousin, Lord Calvin II Hayward, have a  fractured their relationship following events in their childhood. During the reign of King Conon II Tuly, King Conon II named Ser Niall a member of The Crownsguard. Ser Niall's father, Ser Kayden, died during a tournament in Trafton.
