Blue

Blue is a port city that provides the Pomarj with an access point to the rest of the Flanaess. It is the only city left in the Pomarj that has remained predominantly human, due to a large bandit network known as the Kingfishers, who have recently deposed the local government and have instated a dictatorship over the area. Blue provides a large revenue in taxes to the Orcish Empire, which keeps it autonomous and safe from the surrounding orc tribes.

Demographics

Blue is majority human, a rare occurrence in the Pomarj.  Second to humans is orcs, and a few other races in very low numbers.

Government

Blue is ruled by a council of those with the greatest influence, these being rich merchants, gang leaders, and guild masters.

Defences

The city is relatively undefended from its western side, with the exception of stone walls with battlements.  However, there is talk of a growing fleet of warships being built by the shipyards.

Industry & Trade

Blue gets much of its coin from Turrosh Mak and the other clans living in the Drachensgrab Mountains by trading them valuable materials and necessary goods.  They use this coin to import any materials or foods that they might need themselves.

Infrastructure

Blue is the one port town in the Pomarj and is the only thing connecting it to the wider world.  Because of this, it is connected to the few other large settlements in the Pomarj via a road nexus, and had shipyards for repairing and building new ships to trade goods from near and far.

History

Blue served as a minor trading town during Keoish rule and gave trade access to lands to the east and south.  However, after the hateful wars, the humans living in Blue made a deal with the clan leaders of the Pomarj to let them keep their city in exchange for fealty and access to the sea.

Architecture

Blue has high stone walls, though they are cracked and in need of repair. Wood is the most popular material used in construction, though most buildings are utilitarian in craft and are lacking in style.

Geography

Blue is built on the edge of the sea, and next to a river that runs past it.  It is flanked on the north and south by rugged hills.
