Foci

Magical foci are used as tools to empower spellcasting and produce magical effects for spellcasters. Foci can be crafted from metal, wood, stone, glass, bone, or horn. A character can craft staves, or augment them with the use of Jewler's tools, Glassblower's tools, Stonecrafter's tools or Carver's tools. This requires one of these toolsets and proficiency in those tools, a safe location to work uninterupted for the required crafting time, and the required materials and funds to craft the equipment.  

Crafting Foci

A focus is a piece of magical equipment that empowers the wielder's spellcasting. It can hold different magical effects, called augmentations. A staff must always contain a basic augmentation that determines the effect on the wielder's spellcasting. A basic augmentation is chosen when the staff is crafted, and costs no additonal materials.   Each focus can be created using the requisite materials, depicted in the Crafting Foci Table. Each rarity has a number of augmentation slots that determine the maximum number of augmentations that can be added to that weapon, not including the basic augmentation. A staff requires attunement by a spellcaster, as per the basic augmentation.

Basic Augmentations

Magical Focus
Requires attunement by a spellcaster
The wielder can use this staff as a spellcasting focus  
Arcane Weave
Requires attunement by an Arcane weaver
This staff aids the wielder in weaving the energies of the Etherial Plane. The wielder gains a bonus to spell attack rolls and the saving throw DCs of their Arcane spells, determined by the augmentation's rarity. In addition, they can use the staff as a spellcasting focus for their Arcane spells.   Twist (Uncommon). +1 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Braid (Rare). +2 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Weave (Very-rare). +3 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
 
Channeling the Divine
Requires attunement by a Divine practitioner
This staff connects with the wielder's soul and aids them in channeling their deity's Divine Source. The wielder gains a bonus to spell attack rolls and the saving throw DCs of their Divine spells, determined by the augmentation's rarity. In addition, they can use the staff as a spellcasting focus for their Divine spells.   Blessed (Uncommon). +1 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Holy (Rare). +2 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Divine (Very-rare). +3 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
 
Streams of the World
Requires attunement by a Primal conduit
This staff allows the wielder to tap into the Primal energies inherent in the land surrounding them. The wielder gains a bonus to spell attack rolls and the saving throw DCs of their Primal spells, determined by the augmentation's rarity. In addition, they can use the staff as a spellcasting focus for their Primal spells.   Untamed (Uncommon). +1 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Feral (Rare). +2 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Wylde (Very-rare). +3 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
 
Staff of the Pact Keeper
Requires attunement by a Pact magician
This staff serves as an extention of the power that the wielder's Patron has bestowed on them. The wielder gains a bonus to spell attack rolls and the saving throw DCs of their Pact magic spells, determined by the augmentation's rarity. In addition, they can use the staff as a spellcasting focus for their Pact magic spells.   Contract (Uncommon). +1 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Accord (Rare). +2 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
Pact (Very-rare). +3 bonus to spell save DC and spell attack rolls.
