New Moon Coven

In 2006, when Diana Callahan first moved to Melbourne, she found several other young witches living in the city, and together they formed a coven. Rather than a religious group, the purpose was more to form a network together, to link the supernatural community together in the same way that the Council of Elders had once done. The group act ed as an equal partnership, with no formal leader. They practiced and studied their powers, cast spells, and exchanged information from their respective families' grimoires. They all taught each other and learned from each other. This was the first such sharing of resources, knowledge, and training since the Westbrook Academy closed its doors in 1945; in fact, eight of the thirteen witches that formed the coven were direct descendants of the founders of the academy, and representatives of some of the oldest witch bloodlines in Australia.

The group soon came under attack by a witch hunter, however, who managed to kill all but four members of the coven until he was eventually stopped by Diana.

Disbandment

With only four members left, all reeling their attacks and grieving the murders of the coven sisters, they decided to disband the coven.
