Council of Elders

The Council of Elders was a group of nine of the most powerful witches drawn from different covens and bloodlines in Australia, with the purpose of governing witches and the supernatural community of Australia. The council always had at least nine members, however at its height was as large as thirteen.

• Branna Callahan,  Dana Callahan,  Annabel Monroe,  Edith Weller,  Caroline Weller,  Irene Devereaux,  Louisette Devereaux,  Marguerite Devereaux, and Doreen Burke, 

Structure

Each witch in the council bore the title 'Elder', used before their surname. Each elder carried a single vote, and no vote was worth more than another.

Disbandment

While the Council of Elders never officially disbanded, they had their last meeting in 1986. With all the technological advances taking the world by storm, the world was getting smaller and smaller, and the council was too stuck in their old fashioned ways to evolve with the times, and simply became ineffective and eventually redundant.
