It is Vashti who determines the difference between regular telekinesis and the specific and rare form of aerotelekinesis that Diana Callahan exhibits, for instance.
Mental Trauma
Vashti was a member of Diana Callahan's coven when she was a teenager, and is one of the four surviving members that were hunted down by the witch hunter.

Extremely analytical. Adheres to the ABCs of forensic science - assume nothing, believe nobody, check everything. Uses an evidence-based approach to everything, which many in the magical community think is at odds with her being a witch, but Vashti explains that even magic operates by a system of rules, and that seemingly random or mystical occurrences can indeed be broken down to quantifiable parameters.
