Callahan Grimoire

The ancestral book of spells, rituals, and magical lore that has been passed down through the Callahan bloodline for generations. It is an immensely thick book, roughly 12" wide and 17" long, bound with dark 'oxblood' red leather, its pages yellowed and crinkly with age. It was brought to Australia from Ireland by Sheena Callahan in the year 1827.
The book has been written in by almost every member of the Callahan family. As such, there is no structured order or table of contents, but rather is completed page by page. Many pages are detailed with calligraphy and illuminated page borders and illustrations. The grimoire, having been in the possession and use of such a long line of witches for centuries, has absorbed much of the magic of the Callahans to the point that it has become almost a member of the family itself. It will often open at a specific page that the reader is seeking, or will open up to a different page that the reader should read. The book is completely filled with information, but there always remains a single page at the back of the book which is blank. When this page is written in, as soon as the writer turns the page a new blank page appears automatically. In this way, the book will continue to grow and grow for as long as the Callahan family exists.
