Jorvanultumn
(a.k.a. Jorvan)
Jorvanultumn is an Isyar, a species of winged humanoids who live in the cold northern polar regions of the world. He has come to Arnor as part of his elispt, a rite of passage into adulthood. A few months after his arrival in Arnor, he met Meleng and the two struck up a close friendship. Not long after that, while passing through the city of Porthaven, he was approached by a family asking for his help protecting them from Darkers trying to kidnap their son, Corvinian. He and Meleng pledge their assistance, and it is only shortly after that when they encounter Felitïa, Zandrue, and Rudiger for the first time.
As with all Isyar, Jorvanultumn is a wizard. He practises a discipline of magic lost to humans: elementalism.
Having travelled in human lands for a while now, Jorvanultumn has grown accustomed to the way humans use names. As a result, he is an unusual Isyar who will accept people calling him by a shortened form of his name, and he typically goes by Jorvan.
Jorvan is 31 years old throughout The Child of the Volgs. He turns 32 early in Her Right Mind. The portrait at right is of him at age 31. Artwork by layure.
Physical Description
Body Features
Jorvan is small and light of weight like most Isyar. He has a wingspan of just under 12 feet. Despite having a thin body, his wings, even when folded, make his profile look stocky.

Jorvan has a narrow face and almost pointed chin. His white eyebrows are the only hair on his head.

Personal history
Jorvan had a fairly typical childhood for an Isyar. He learned his magic from his diare, Davorultumn. Upon reaching adulthood at age 30, he began his elispt. However, his family's elispt is an unusually long and difficult one, requiring him to travel the entire world (except the island of the Volgs ) and learn about the places, peoples, and cultures. Shortly before his departure, he encountered his fomase, the Isyar he is bonded to as a mate (see the article on Isyar for information), Fevionawishtensen. They had only a short time to get to know one another before he had to depart, but he already loves her dearly.
