The Adyrian Trading Company
The Adyrian Trading Company is the combined national foreign trading effort of the Adyrian Republics, operating as a single, unified organisation that keeps itself busy with delivering the profits the homeland calls for. It is the only organisation of such a nature that has the backing of all of the City-States that make up the Adyrian Republics and as such is capable of carrying significant influence with it.
The Company keeps various outposts throughout Faryon as a part of a deal made with Ludwig III in exchange for a significant loan granted towards the latter.
Seen as both a unifying token of national pride for all of the Republics, and responsible for a large amount of the Republics' trade, the Adyrian Trading Company is entrusted with a significant amount of responsibility, and is known to stop at very little to get its way when operating outside of the Republics' borders.
Structure
The Adyrian Trading Company is meritocratic in nature: the most competent will advance through its ranks and will eventually be granted the positions they are best-suited for. The head of the company simply carries the title of Director and carries the final responsibility for, and authority over, each of the Company's efforts.
Below the Director come various positions that, on their own, stand on equal footing. The Harbormaster is responsible for the maintenance of the fleet and the creation of new ships for the mercantile fleet. The Fleetmaster, on the other hand, takes on the role of a military commander more than anything, commandeering the more militaristic portions of the Company's fleet, carrying responsibility for the safeguarding of the fleet as a whole. The Chief Accountant is responsible for the Company's financial paperwork and trading logs.
Besides these, the Adyrian Trading Company has governors oversee affairs in the regions they have been assigned to, carrying responsibility for those, respectively. Below these are the myriad of accountants, scribes, archivists, and other assorted staff working for the company's offices.
Captains of ships from the Adyrian Trading Company's fleet are given a relatively high amount of independence, although they still report to the governor of whichever region they operate in, as well as the rest of the chief administrative staff in place.
Public Agenda
The acquisition, production, and protection of goods deemed of importance to the Adyrian Republics as a unified front: together, the Adyrian Republics stand stronger than they ever will on their own.
