The Ichian Belt extends 436,000 km above Phylios's surface on average, with some variance due to Misol and Terryl's gravitational pull on the belt.

The Ichian Belt contains a variety of minerals due to being the remnants of a metallic moon known as Ichian. The theortical percent mineral content, by mass, of the belt is as follows:

History

The Ichian Belt was originally the metallic Ichian Moon that orbited Phylios millennia ago, destroyed by warfare before the Colonizers arrived. While a bit of the lunar debris landed on Phylios, most of it stayed in orbit around Phylios to eventually settle into a stable orbit 400,000 kilometers above Phylios. Since then, asteroids that flew too close would be captured in the Belt thanks to gravity, the magnetic field in the belt itself and Phylios, and the new asteroid crashing into others before settling in.
In the year 117, exploration of the Belt revealed the high mineral content of the asteroids from the original Ichian Moon. They later found centuries-old equipment and ruins on and around some of the asteroids, correlating with reports and stories of Animate mining facilities on the moon.
