Phylios

"Have you ever wondered why the Animates gave us this planet? I do not think they did."

  • Geography

Phylios has seven major continents, a subcontinent, and two island systems for all its landmass. It also possesses two main oceans and several large seas, all greatly interconnected due to severe climate change from over a millennia ago - the world once had far more exposed and connected land.   As a whole, Phylios has a wide range of geography, especially as some of it was made by a devastating war before the Colonizers arrived.

    Lusith

Smaller than it appears on most maps, the continent of Lusith covers the Northern Polar Circle of Phylios and extends slightly past it. In the winter, it is almost entirely covered in ice and snow - even the lakes and seas can have sheets of ice over nine meters thick. Most of it melts in the summer. The Krygn Mountains span the north pole, while the rest of the landmass is either snow-covered plains or hills.

    Akema

Akema holds mostly a mixture of plains and low hills. Much rougher terrain exists to the east, where one can find steep hills and mountains. A jagged cave system exists in the north, but it does not look natural.

    Qezopoxis

Mostly a continent of hills, Qezopoxis holds very little in terms of water terrain except for its coasts and tiny ponds created in the valleys of hills. The hills in the north are larger but smoother than those in the south.

    Xian Qil

The northern third is mainly plateaus and mesas, while the southern two thirds morph these high lands into hills.

    Cerifeld

    The subcontinent

    Exiom

Existing mostly in the equatorial region of Phylios, Exiom boasts vast rolling and flat deserts of glittering red sand, with the occasional oasis. Savannas exist on its coasts as well as in the northern and southern areas of the continent.

    Bondrom Archipelago

A system of large subtropical and alpine islands in the southern hemisphere, the Bondrom Archipelago is actually the tops of large hills and mountains that became submerged beneath the Southern Ocean.

    Son Morcia Islands

This line of islands holds a lot of geological activity, where the centerline erupt molten material out of large and deep fissures that create very rough terrain both over and under the sea level. The largest island in the southeast holds a dormant volcano, Tsarsu Oman.

    Vashnigar

The Teberforth Sea in Vashnigar is thought to be the impact crater of a devastating nuclear explosion from millennia ago. This is further figured by the numerous hills and valleys that take the shape of multiple deep missile strikes - more of which exist well beyond the coasts. As a result, the continent is dotted with lakes and seas filling these craters.

    Desthir

    Southern Ocean

Ancient documents and science suggest here was once a large glacier in the Southern Polar Circle that has now melted into the oceans, leaving only the Southern Ocean in its place. Since Phylio's axis is perpendicular to its plane of orbiting Misol, the pole of this ocean exhibits a visible and measurable depression in the water's surface.

    Ecosystem Cycles

Phylios itself has 36 hours in one day, 30 days every month, and 13 months (390 days) each year. As it has no axial tilt, seasons only come from its elliptical orbit.   During the first three months, called Heatrise, the increasing proximity of the star Misol to Phylios will warm the planet's land, water, and atmosphere. Places with ice or snow will begin to melt, with the most notable changes happening in the Northern and Southern Polar Circles - especially Lusith. Oceans levels will collectively rise, especially at the equator.    In the next three months, called Crestmisol, the close proximity of the star to Phylios will warm the planet to even higher temperatures. to lower sea levels and expose land, decreasing the size of lakes an   Heatfall is in the three months after, where
