The highest rank in the Kerek League. Each Master oversees one of the fourteen Disciplines, and they are answerable only to a majority vote of the other Masters.

Perception in Society

As the heads of the Kerek League, Masters have near absolute authority on Kerekos. Most citizens view them as untouchable figures of supreme knowledge and power that are to be feared if not respected. Some believe the current Masters are the same people as those who originally formed the League. The Masters have no trouble with these perspectives, and several encourage them. Present-day Masters possess a disdain for dealing with those beneath them. Besides public appearances at festivals, the Masters frequently sequester themselves in their work, using their Eminents to handle the day to day affairs. Outside of Zaigon, few citizens can claim to have even seen a Master.

Duties

While the duties of any particular Master varies slightly from Discipline to Discipline, each is expected to adhere oversee their Discipline and adhere to the following Tenets:

Encourage the pursuit of knowledge wherever it does not threaten Kerekan lives or culture.

Ensure adequate enforcement of laws established by the League.

Oversee the agents and projects practiced by your Discipline, and ensure cooperation with others.

The Masters are also responsible for creating and changing the laws of Kerekos. They meet in Zaigon every quarter-Cycle to discuss requests for changes and the direction of inter-Discipline projects. In older times, these meetings were incredibly productive, leading to leaps in technological and cultural advancement. The current Masters are often more concerned with personal power than benefitting society, and Kerekos has been stuck in a state of stagnancy for the last twenty years.
