The Forest Flower (| ðə ˈfɔːrəst ˈflaʊər |)

Geography

The Forest Flower is the only known location within the Conva to have high concentrations of both flora and fauna. It is a luscious forest-jungle that contains a variety of wildlife that can be found in the Jungle Coasts at either end of the Conva.

The Forest Flower features seven main areas that form an empty lily-like formation at the center of the Forest.

The first location is the Domain of the Jagged Peaks, a large forest with a mountain range at its West, housing the Jagged Peaks. The Jagged Peaks, formerly known as the Twin Jagged Peaks, is the only mountain range in the Oasis to snow. It features the cold climates of the Frontiers despite being inside of a Forest in the middle of the Desert, a truly baffling phenomena that scientists are still attempting to research.

The second location is the Roofed Forest. Not much is known about this place other than two important facts. The first fact is that the area, despite being sheltered by trees the size of castle towers, is thriving with various sunlight dependent flora and fauna. This is because these are Steelleaf and Ironwood Trees that allow remaining sunlight to pass through their leaves after they have absorbed enough for photosynthesis. The second important piece of information is that somewhere deep within the Roofed Forest lies the terrifying protectors of the Forest within The Flugel Village. The Flugels are a race of extremely powerful humanoids that wield the might to rival the Warsmiths in terms of individual power. Not much is known about their numbers, let alone motives for protecting the forest, but adventurers are cautioned to not enter the forest purely due to their guarantee of protection over the forest.

The third location is the Forests of Ruin, postioned at the very North of this large Flower. The Forest of Ruin is home to the various minor Bug Kingdoms that rule over the happenings of the Forest Flower, like the Beehemoth Nest, Coalition of Arthropods and various smaller hunting tribes of Thri-Kreen and similar arthropod-based organisms.

The fourth location is the Conquered Petal. This is the most Western region of the Forest Flower ruled, by Kaiser III the enigmatic and self-proclaimed ruler of the entire Forest. Despite rumors of the Flugels clashing with Kaiser and the various conspiracies agains the man, he has never been sighted by the general public of the Conva and hence can only be summed up as a legend. With or without rulers, the Conquered Petal consists mainly of forests and fields that stretch to the very Western peripherals of the Forest Flower, accompanied by various smaller villages and riddled with paths towards the center of the Forest.

The fifth location is the Mana Banana Forest, situated at the South-West of the Forest Flower. This region is the second-largest mana-rich region in the entire forest, second only to the center of the Forest. The Mana Banana Forest, as the name implies, is a forest largely consisted of Mana Banana Trees, rich in mana-content and untapped magical energy. There are various other flora and fauna that exist due to the Mana Bananas, but the Mana Bananas are the main sight to behold in this region. The Mana Banana Forest is also home to the local Forest Walkers villages that raise the finest Dendro Mages in the Conva.

The sixth location is the Domain of the Salvatorus. Initially an extension of the Domain of the Jagged Peaks, the true base of operations of the Salvatorus Paladins within the Conva is now within this region of the Forest Flowers. Mountain ranges and rolling hills as far as the eye can see, this was truly a scenic home that belonged to the Salvatorus Church. The area only houses a few patches of forests and remains largely safe even for travelers as the local might of the Paladins wards off local monsters and predators.

The seventh and final location within the Forest Flower is its core or center – the Lily of the Oasis. On a cartographer's table, the Lily seems like a vast empty planes of sorts, however upon closer inspection with Arcane Eyes, it is possible to see a Bastion at the center of the Lily. The grass of the Lily is a sky-blue as mana channels through the very land and produces magical flora and fauna of all kinds. It is usually a site of mass-dimensional instability due to its high magical concentration, but the Seals of the Forest keep the magical flow of mana in check every hundred years or so. Even so, some portals to the Feywild do crop up from time-to-time and this is the place where those occurrences happen the most.

Ecosystem

The ecosystem of the Forest Flower is not unlike the usual ecosystem of any forest. There exists a food chain and heirarchy of predator and prey, where the Apex Predator of the region reigns until its death, assimilated into the raw Dendro the Forest Flower hosts wthin the Lily of the Oasis.

Transcending the simplicity of a food chain, there also exists various factions and active parties that hold power within the Forest Flower – causing a need for a hierarchical system to keep the power in check. At the top of this hierarchy exists the fabled Kaiser III and his domain, followed by the Grove Guardians of the Forest Flower, and the Sworn Protectors of the Forest the Flugels. Beneath them also exist the Masters of the Mountains of the Jagged Peaks, the Salvatorus Paladin Church and the various monarchs of the Bug Kingdoms.

Ecosystem Cycles

The Forest Flower, not unlike the rest of the sandy dunes of the Conva only goes through a constant season of spring, where life thrives and the times alloted for day and night are equal. The Forest Flower is a spitting image of the climate of the majority of the Bountiful Planes – a scenic and thriving forest of raw Dendro, outpouring with flora, fauna and life.

History

Only the Elders of the Conva and the aristocrats of the Eyeva know the true origins of the Forest Flower, but for the past 400 years it has existed, the Forest Flower has since been the only refuge to exist for those who seek the life overflow of flora and fauna the Conva desperately lacks.

Some speculate that the Forest Flower is one of the last works of the Triune before the MaCata; others theorise that the Forest Flower draws its power from the Barrage of Seals that the road-town of Bandit's Barrage is situated above. Ultimately, only those there before the Forest Flower would know how it came about.

A couple of decades after the discovery of the Forest Flower and awakening of the collective consciousness of the Forest, the Guardians of the Forest, Kaiser I, fabled ancestor of the current Kaiser III claims ownership over the entire forest and is allegedly sealed within the forest until he breaks free of the seal and is given authority over the West of the Forest.

300 years after the reign of Kaiser I, the Flugels announce their presence within the Forest and swear their protection of and loyalty to the Forest Flower and wish upon intruders of the Forest death and destruction of warring proportions.
