Weissen Settlement in The True Dark Ages | World Anvil

Weissen

Weissen is a smallist town on the west of old Saxony to the south, two to three days travel from the area now called Switzerland. It is on plains near a road going south to a village called Fuken. It is surrounded by farmland, with access to mountains and forests to the south. The town itself has been took over recently by the Franks. The locals don't seem to care as one overlord is just the same as another to them. The only thing is the cracking down on non-Christian religions has caused some resentment but many local religious groups still go on ahead.   It has a small market place in the middle of the town, with a well and a local mayor's house that is flying the Frankish flag. the other sider of this house is the executioners square. The executioner for the region is rumoured to be a male Half-Orc. It is a market town with the odd merchant coming and going, and many family members of farmers selling their goods, or other forms of trade. A black smith, tanner and sawmill / carpenter workshop is also present at the edge of town near a small river called Dhampnr. The mayor is called Erik Bryar. A few Wood Elves live in or near the town acting as hunters or farmers.
