Personal history
Morrigan is an a Hibernian & Scotti goddess of war and battle, a manifestation of the earth & sovereign goddess (as a guardian of the land and it's people) and viewed as a triple of goddess sometimes with the names of Badb, Macha and Anand. In the form of Macha, she is tied closely to Ulster and the sites of Navan Fort & Armagh. Overall, her link to Ulster is closer than most with her ambiguous link to Cu Chulainn, the Hound of Ulster and the geas that led to his death.
She is regularly seen washing the clothes of warriors who fall in battle and stokes the bravery of men in battle while in the form of Badb , sways the battle in favour of those who she wants to see victorious. As a triplicate, they are also tied to the land goddess Enu, Banba and Fodia. In singular terms she has became linked to the Banshee, and has been linked to not just them & the land but to animals especially livestock & crows (the latter she can shapeshift into).
Her ability at war helped Lugh and the Tuatha De drive the Formarians into the sea. She does this while reciting poetry and by summoning of Hibernia's wizards to help kill King Indech of the Formarians. She is a patron to the Fianna, the youthful noble-born warrior-hunters.
Morrigan is sometimes referred to as causing fear and confusion in enemy warriors. It is said that when in crow form she is known as Badb Catha, battle crow.
She appears related at least if not the same as to the Gaulish battle goddess Cathubodua.
"I have heard of the Morrigan in passing, and of this Cathubodua too The former appears in stories related to me by the Hibernians, and the latter seems more local, especially the Gauls. A goddess you do not want to fall out with, anyone that does is fated to die in combat. Keep on her side, she will aid you in military endeavours. And as for her links to the Bean-sidhes? I don't even want to know. Unless one pops up round here of course."
