Land Deed - 7 Square Miles South West
The owner of this document is entitled to build a Motte-and-Bailie on a 7 square mile region, with all land rights under the Crown within the borders of Austria. These can be claimed to the South West taking in part of the Alps. The owner can, if so desired, trade the goods retrieved from any mines, lumber, and from animal fur. Also, they can set up farms and a settlement in the region with all basic amenities, along with any religious grounds as they see fit. The Crown expects in return a 5% tax raised each year, during Harvest, to be supplied to the Collector when time is due. Also, a garrison of militia (or equivalent) must be retained in the settlement and/or motte-and-bailey maintained at cost of the Owner. Any trade in the settlement may be taxed, used for upkeep of militia & defences, or barred depending on buyer / seller. Any such external trade must be approved by the signatory of this document.
Addendum: A trade post / port must also be built here, to take advantage of travellers in and out of settlement, and any foreign trader must make a payment of 5% tax, to set up a trade route to the settlement. This is payable every Harvest, and used to upkeep the trade route.
