Ilmen East Slavs
The Ilmen Slavs, or the Novgorod Slavs or Slovenes, are the dominant Slavic tribe found around the region of the Volknov, Lovat & Msta river basins along with the upper stream of the Mologa river. They also are dominant in & around the shores of Lake Ilmen. Believed to be one of or the oldest Slavic tribe, all other Slavs are rumoured to be descended of them.

Major language groups and dialects
Speaking an ancient version of the Slavic dialect, it is generally referred to as the Old Novgorod dialect.
Average technological level
Highly advanced for their time, they have benefited from strong relations with the Rus Norse. They have access to well-built boats & ships, ploughs made of wood with metal tips, and a range of well-made weapons & jewellery.
