Personal history
The Dearg Due appears as a beautiful woman, at least at first. She was originally from a village in County Waterford in south eastern Hibernia.
As with many of her people she grew up in the village and was at the age to marry. Having an attraction to a local peasant lad who felt the same. After love blossomed they talked of marriage and children, and taking over the family farm. Unfortunately her father didn't feel the same. Being a wicked and evil man, he organised something else for her.
With her being a natural beauty, he had decided some stime before to profit from her. He travelled to the local chieftain, known to be a wealthy man and had a brutish nature. The father proposed to the chieftain that she could become his wife. The chieftain readily agreed knowing the girl, and promised the father riches and his own farm.
Being stuck, the daughter had to accept or lose everything. So the day came, and they were married, leading to resentment by her and her true love to the chieftain and her father. The peasant lad vowed revenge and a way to get this undone.
Sadly this didn't come to pass. The chieftain was no better than her father, treating her nothing more than a trophy and locking her away from the outside world for days and weeks. After losing all hope she starved herself to death. Her husband was even cruel in her death giving her a modest burial. On top of this, her husband and father carried on as usual, with the husband remarrying soon after, and her father never attending her grave.
This in turn led to the peasant lad's heart turning harder from the abuses she suffered, Looking for outright revenge now, he himself couldn't see what was coming.
Her spirit was troubled so much and angry at how she was treated, she rose from the grave to enact her revenge on the living.
Travelling to her father's abode, she found him asleep and killed him as he lay there. From there, she moved on to the chieftain's abode. Finding him in bed with a number of women. He-showed no regrets and she violently killed him.
At this point she rushed his corpse and drank the blood from his body. By doing so she sealed her fate as a vampire. Feeling invigorated and more alive after this, she became to feel a lust for the blood of the living after this.
Using her natural beauty to lure unsuspecting young men into areas where she can drink their blood, she found that her thirst has got stronger and stronger. Still killing at present she has attract4ed the attention of the AĆ Sidhe, and rumours have spread that she seems to be feeding less and less, recently in the past few days. She has been reported to have been seen in the company of vampires, the dreaded Baobhan Sith who seems to have adopted her as one of theirs. Exactly why she is seen far less in Waterford is unknown, though the tales of vampirism has increased lately in central and eastern Europe, leading to many suspecting that she has found new hunting grounds.
