Legend of New Mycenae
The Ancient Greek ancestors of the majority of the Coalition Citizens didn’t travel directly to the founding worlds of the Coalition, from Earth. They traveled much farther and colonized a distant planet in the galaxy, naming the planet New Mycenae. It was only 1700, years later that the civilization on New Mycenea fell and the people fled to their fresh colonies, Prometheus, Sisyphus and Tantalus, which became independent at that time.
Historical Basis
It’s mostly true, apart from the details that have become exaggerated over the millennia. There are still ruins of the capital city, Gaia, on New Mycenae, but only a handful of people even know the location of the planet.
In Literature
There’s a series of graphic novels about Space Marshal Blast Bolton, who operated out of New Mycenae. They have been reprinted many times and most people in the Coalition have read at least one volume of them at some point.
