Hover Pad Item in The Trident Coalition | World Anvil

Hover Pad

A disc used in the game Anti-Gravcrosse The pad is 70 centimeters in diameter and three centimeters thick. It contains the same technology as the artificial gravity deck plates on large spaceships, in the side that usually faces up, whilst the underside contains emits a field that makes the pad maintain a specified altitude, even when the pad is upside down.

Players can sometimes give their team members a boost by turning the pad upside down, so that when the team members step on the underside they get a boost and can easily get to the next tier of the playing field. The artificial gravity makes it so that the team member who turned it over remain standing upside down on the pad. As the game is played over water it also causes water to rain up onto the player. If the player keeps the pad upside down for more than thirty seconds he, or she, falls off the pad and has to spend the rest of the Round in the penalty box.

The pad has lights on the top side that shines either red or blue depending on where in the playing field it is, and the teams are trying to make as many pads as possible the same color.
