Anti-Gravcrosse

A popular sport in the The Trident Coalition⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ which is played outdoors above water, deep enough that you don't hurt yourself if you fall off the hovering anti-gravity-pads.   Two teams compete to score points by hitting the four balls of different colors, tagging the members of the other team, or knocking them off the pads while keeping your balance and jumping between the pads yourself.

History

In 2710 a Sergeant in the Trident Coalition Marine Corps⁣ was on leave with his boyfriend, a Corporal, and staying in a bungalow on Dionysos⁣. It was a small island, some distance away from Semele City and all the bungalows were on stilts out in the water, with wood poles to walk on to get to land. There were also hovering discs to step on, in some places.   One day, coming back from a run on the beach, around the little island, the Sergeant caught his boyfriend having sex with five catamites, and instead of joining in he got jealous and chased his boyfriend and the catamites out across the poles and floating discs, trying to throw various fruits at them, from the fruit bowl. Three more servicemen and three catamites saw them and thought "That looks fun." They joined in.   One of the Servicemen who joined thought it could be a good exercise in teamwork and... well exercise, so he took the experience and turned it into the game Anti-Gravcrosse.

Execution

The game is played by two teams of twelve players each, that battle over three tiers of hovering anti-gravity pads, above the surface of body of water, close enough to land that the spectators can see the match.   One team starts out on the first tier, where the lights built into the hovering lights shine red. The other team are spread out on the second and third tiers. On the second tier half the pads shine red and half shine blue. On the third tier all the pads are blue. The team on the bottom tier will try to get to the third tier and turn all the pads red, while the other team tries to defend the tiers and turn all pads blue. The teams swap places seven times, each Round lasting fifteen minutes. Anyone who falls into the water has to wait until the next Round to rejoin the game.

Components and tools

144 Anti-gravity pads make up the three tiers of the game grounds, including the ones that form stairs between the tiers. They use some of the same technology as the artificial gravity on larger space ships, with some modifications.   Each team has four sticks where there’s a one meter wood pole for the player to hold with both hands and a half meter long cylindrical cushion on either end, which they use to knock members of the opposing team into the water.   Each team also has four bats to hit the foam rubber balls with.   There’s four foam rubber balls in different colors, that they try to either hit the other team members with, or a pad they are about to step on, changing its color to either red or blue, depending on which position the team is for the Round.   The Green ball is worth one point, the yellow ball is worth two points, the Red ball is worth three and the Blue ball is worth four.

I don’t know if this is a phone browser problem, but after the link to Semele city there’s what I assume is a bit of code used for formatting visible.

Thanks for pointing it out, I've fixed it now. There was a similar thing after one of the other links that I noticed on my own and fixed. I'm currently on my iMac, so it's not a phone browser probelm. I think it's because I wrote that section of the article on my phone, some weird thing that happened in the new WYSIWYG editor..
