Spectral Plateau
Above the city of Cerelon is located a plateau where shimmering fields energy scintillates over the surface, rising and falling in waves. These energies can be used to imbue spheres of specially prepared synth with a warm glow, leading to the production of glowglobes. Iotum is also relatively common up on the plateau, with apt clay, pliable metal and sometimes even quantum being found by fossickers.
The fields of shimmering spectral energy interfere with many types of automata, so the work of searching for iotum and of placing and retrieving globes is performed by human labourers. Exposure to the waves of energy on the plateau cause no immediate harm to people, although some who have spent their lives working these fields do succumb to a condition known as "Glowfetchers Dreaming"
At the northern end of the plateau is a crystal known as the Chorus Stone, a site of great interest to the Chorus of the Stones
