Rockbead Creeper

Rockbead Creeper is an unusual species of plant native to the Spectral Plateau, it is a low-lying creeping shrub that is not only unharmed by constant exposure to the chromatic energies of the plateau - it seems to thrive off of them. Individual shrubs can grow to cover patches of ten to fifteen feet in diameter and can often be part of larger colonies that cover the ground for a mile or more.

Rockbead Creeper gets its name from the unusual crystalline beads that grow along the length of its stolons, these beads often start small and slowly grow - crystals the size of a human fist are quite common and some long-lived plants have crystals several feet in diameter. It is not unusual to see small objects encased within the larger crystals, and these are sometimes harvested to obtain cyphers or iotum for trade. How the objects come to be within the creepers beads has to date not been adequately explained.

The leaves of the Rockbead Creeper have an unusual slate grey colouration and a distinct chalky texture. They are brittle and tend to crumble when handled, with the resulting dust often staining whatever it touches in multi-coloured hues.

The plant has no known medicinal uses, however Zin Akatoa has recently taken an interest in the plant. He hopes that if he can better understand its resilience to the energies of the Spectral Plateau, he might be able to use that knowledge to produce a cure to Glowfetchers Dreaming.
