Great Plains Cuisine

Th cuisine of the Great Western Plains is widely considered as the most traditional demonic cuisine, being the least influenced by outside food supplies (namely those from the Beastkin Realm or Troll Realm).    The main staples of Great Plains cuisine are wild grains and wuna milk, supplemented with other wild plants and meat from hunting small game like ringed grassleapers. Unlike the rest of the realm, herdspeople of the Plains do not eat much fish - often being far from the main bodies of water that support them. Frogs and toads, however, are another common meat used for cooking.    Wuna meat is also common, though they are primarily tended for milk and fur rather than consumption, both on the Plains and elsewhere in the realm. Most meals are cooked over open fires, and meat is often smoked to preserve it over longer walks.    Milk porridge, accompanied by meat, is a common breakfast food. Pre-made meals of smoked meat tend to be eaten throughout the day, and hearty stews poured over wild grains that have simmered throughout the day make most evening meals. Herbal teas - hot in the cool dry season and cool the rest of the year - are the most common everyday beverage.    Fermented wuna milk is the most common alcoholic beverage. Sweetened milk curds are a common dessert, though usually reserved for special occasions. Foraging fresh berries or nuts is the more common way of finding a sweet treat or snack, and wild nuts are often mixed with sweetened curd desserts.
