Champion Summoning
A ritual the gods gifted the deposed rulers who would come to be known as the Nine Reborn in order to fight the Seven False Demon Kings that invaded their realm.
It is a ritual which consumes a massive amount of magical energy, so much so that it is only performed once a century. The gods themselves powered the very first summoning, but no more beyond that one.
Effect
Summons a Champion to the Thirteen Realms from another world.
Side/Secondary Effects
The summoning alters the souls of the humans summoned from another world in such a way that they are infused with aetherial strength - this manifests in different ways, usually depending on the preferences of the summoned. While the gods no longer power the summoning, they do intervene to help guide the aetherial energy in this way.
Manifestation
A massive ray of light shoots out of the summoning circle, located in the Empire's Starlight Tower.

The power used for the spell is gathered from imperial citizens with magical power over the course of a century in small yearly donations. It is stored in a massive crystal that floats at the base of the Starlight Tower.
Discovery
Deposed rulers of the Human Realm appealed to their dieties for help in reclaiming their kingdoms from demon invaders that usurped them, and their call was answered with the summoning ritual.
With the aid of the first Champion, the rulers were able to reclaim their lost lands and unite under one banner - that of the Goddess Angela.

Gestures & Ritual
The Nine Stars of Angela are all required to participate - they are arranged around the large summoning circle, where they ardently pray as they focus all the gathered magical energy into the circle. The desires of the Nine can influence the kind of Champion summoned, such as wishes for strength or cleverness.
