Mezenloft Consortium

The Mezenloft Consortium is one of the largest corporate enterprises in the Saliet Planetary Cluster as well as one of the oldest. First established during the early colonization period, before Mozoroi proper was even thoroughly scouted out, the Mezenloft Group (as they were known at the time) were one of the principal architects for building up the economy of the system. In the modern era, the Consortium has branch offices in every Cluster of the system (both planetside and on the moons) and are employers for hundreds of thousands of citizens.

Structure

The Mezenloft Consortium is the overarching owning company of nearly a dozen subordinate companies and two "partner" companies. Within Mezenloft itself are the requisite offices and personnel needed to help manage a system wide economic enterprise which is spread over nearly a dozen distinct fields. 
The two partner are Assil Aerodynamics and Johaan Technologies.

History

The Mezenloft Group (the company that would become the Consortium) was initially founded by Harson Mezenloft, a merchant by trade who had married Maretta (a techmage). Harson, along with several other high ranking members of the colonial population, created a merchant guild to help coordinate the resources needed to build up the early colonies. In Mozoroi, this was all controlled by techmages or the family members of techmages, leading to the effective establishment of an aristocracy centered on the mage class. The Mezenloft Group coordinated the movement of resources extracted from the atmosphere of Saliet to factories where the raw materials were processed into various goods.
As more colonies were founded and grew, the Mezenloft Group expanded into various other fields to best suit each new colony's particular set of resources. Josul Ironworks, a metalworking company, was established as a subsidiary of Mezenloft to run those businesses in Tobriet.
