Destin Hallows is a human cook at the Snapping Lure and friend of Necian Arrzen and Eluna Lindel.
History
Destin was born in Focosgost in 1473. The son of a family of chefs, Destin began working at the city's palace from a young age, serving Lord Joakim Ferox and his family. During this time, Destin grew close with another young cook, Eluna Lindel. In 1493, during the chaos of the Decker Coup, Destin and Eluna attempted to escape the palace, worried about the violent retribution Hargrave Decker and his soldiers would take upon the city's populace. While escaping, the pair met Necian Arrzen, whose parents were also chefs for the Ferox's. With Necian's help, the trio escaped Focosgost and traveled south, before settling in Saltmarsh in early 1494. The Gosts, now friends, rented an apartment in town. Destin took a job at the Snapping Lure, helping its dragonborn owner Hanna Rist. For the next several years, Destin worked steadily and began to think of Saltmarsh as his new home.The Banesmark Crisis
Throughout 1496, Destin continued working in the Snapping Lure. Following Saltmarsh's induction into the Dunwater Alliance, Destin joined the Neverwinter Guard and the Mariners in training exercises designed to give the townsfolk a fighting chance if they were attacked at home. While the majority of the Neverwinter Guard and Mariners left to go fight in the Battle of the Spire, Destin remained behind. It was during this time that he met Immortal Valentine, Raven Bloodash, and Seraphina Pierce who had arrived into town and unwittingly foiled Anders Solmor's plan to expel the town's Neverens. The three adventurers, later joined by Ardek Oredelver, would become regulars at the Snapping Lure and call themselves the B-Team. Following the Battle of the Spire, Destin, Eluna, and Necian celebrated with a night of drinking that ended with the two boys vandalizing the recently vacant mansion of Anders Solmor. Destin was working during Gideon Mistmoor's attack during Monster's Eve and missed the chaos. During the later half of 1496, Destin was one of the Marshers not affected by the Banesmark. Like the rest of the town, Destin was convinced that the Banesmark was a Shadowfell-based disease.During the1497 New Year's Celebration, which was delayed until the 4th to allow the Heroes of Saltmarsh to participate, Destin and Eluna remained together most of the night.
