Cult of the Dragon Civil War
The Cult of the Dragon Civil War is an ongoing internal conflict with the cult of the Dragon following their loss during the Great Dragon War.
Following the death of the cult's leader Don Rel during the Battle at the Well of Dragons, the cult of the dragon was left leaderless. Only two of the cult's leaders remained alive following the disasterous battle. Galvan the White, the White Wyrmspeaker, believed that the cult of the dragon had strayed too far from its original goal of creating dracoliches, and he argued to a return to tradition. He was opposed by High Marshal Amara, the Green Wyrmspeaker and the commander of the cult's military during the war, who was an ardent believer in Don Rel's reforms and the need to wage open war against the enemies of Tiamat.
This disagreement eventually turned into outirght hostility as the surviving members of the cult were forced to pick sides. Hostility soon turned to conflict, and for the last several years the cult has focused its energy and efforts inward, further reducing their effectiveness following the Great Dragon War. To this day, there is no clear winner of the conflict.
