The New Libertalia War with S.W.A.R.M
"The Emp weapons did nothing, those monsters of steel and grinding gears, robots we thought were relics of a bygone era! We underestmated them those Titans of old, it begs to ask what if they had unleashed more of thier stockpile of doomsday weapons? Doctor M was the greatest mad scientist of his time, if that was taste of his stockpile did we ever stand a chance?" - S.W.A.R.M Drone Soldier 1029-C before being executed by his commander
"Supervillains fighting supervillains? sounds like a win win situation to me" -Aaron Adam Abbrams Journalist "These insects dare to oppose us! they are naught by mindless vermin! Locusts set to consume without thought or freedom! We are not just villians, we are supervillains! We are fear, we are power! and we shall crush these invaders under our heels like ants they are!" -Doctor M, High Consul of New Libertalia.
The Conflict
Prelude
The New Libertalia War with S.W.A.R.M. stemmed from escalating tensions between the villainous nation-state and the globally infamous terrorist organization. S.W.A.R.M.’s desire for world domination and their tendency to destabilize governments through chaos inevitably clashed with New Libertalia’s vision of structured villainy and sovereignty.
By 1987, S.W.A.R.M. had shifted its focus to the Caribbean region, seeking to establish a major stronghold close to North American trade routes. This ambition directly threatened New Libertalia’s territorial integrity and economic interests, particularly its trade-based smuggling operations and shipping lanes. For New Libertalia’s ruling council, this was an intolerable act of encroachment.
High Consul Doctor M declared S.W.A.R.M. a global menace that "would learn the price of underestimating the world's only true supervillain nation." Lady Armora, then a young general in the Liberty Guard, was tasked with leading the defense effort, marking a critical turning point in her rise to power.
Deployment
S.W.A.R.M. Deployment
S.W.A.R.M.’s deployment strategy relied on their hive-like hierarchy and cutting-edge technology. They fielded units designed for rapid, overwhelming assaults, using their insect-themed divisions to exploit New Libertalia’s defenses.
H.O.R.N.E.T. and W.A.S.P. Troopers: These aerial shock troopers were among the first deployed, carrying out rapid strikes against key infrastructure and supply lines. Equipped with flight-capable exosuits and drone support, they sowed chaos and confusion during the early stages of the war.
A.N.T. Ground Troops: Heavily armored and designed for direct combat, these units spearheaded S.W.A.R.M.’s ground operations. The inclusion of F.I.R.E A.N.T. units with incendiary weaponry created devastating effects, particularly during the assault on Iron Spire.
Honey Bees: These elite infiltration units were deployed to assassinate key members of New Libertalia's leadership, including an attempted strike against the Council of Six and high ranking officals. Their missions also targeted communication hubs and intelligence networks.
T.E.R.M.I.T.E. Engineers: Sappers and engineers specialized in demolitions were sent to destabilize New Libertalia’s defensive fortifications, including attempts to sabotage the Iron Spire’s manufacturing facilities.
Support Drones and Robotics: S.W.A.R.M.’s advanced robotic units were used extensively for reconnaissance, combat, and resource exploitation, providing tactical versatility on the battlefield.
New Libertalia Deployment
The Liberty Guard, New Libertalia’s elite military force, was deployed to counter S.W.A.R.M.’s attacks.Lady Armora's command ensured that every deployment was efficient, strategic, and devastatingly effective.
Liberty Guard Units: Equipped withthe then new Liberty Carapace MK VI armor and modular weapons such as the Black Eagle MKIII Assault Rifle, the Liberty Guard was the backbone of New Libertalia's defense. They were trained to handle unconventional warfare, including combat against superpowered foes and advanced technology.
Cyclops Sentinel Walkers: These mobile combat platforms played a pivotal role in repelling S.W.A.R.M.’s ground forces. The Evil Eye Recon Variant provided crucial intelligence for counterattacks.
Ebony Alligator Amphibious APCs: Deployed during the Siege of Costa Maledetta, these vehicles ensured rapid troop movements across water and land, countering S.W.A.R.M.’s amphibious units.
Deaths Head Combat Mechs: Used for heavy assaults and defensive operations, these humanoid mechs provided unmatched firepower and intimidation on the battlefield.
The Dark Praetorians: New Libertalia’s most elite force was deployed sparingly, often acting as Lady Armora’s personal guard and spearheading critical missions, such as the final assault on S.W.A.R.M.’s Caribbean base.
Airborne Units: The Knight Fall Airborne APCs enabled rapid deployment of troops into contested territories, providing a critical advantage in mobility.
Doom Titans: The massive robots built by Doctor M in the late 50s proved instermental in defending Hub City. The hulking behemoths of Steel were so old that that S.W.A.R.M Emp weapons proved utterly useless making them the hammer and anvil of new Libertalias defences.
