Resolute Cruiser
"The Resolute cruiser was a powerhouse of the Ecotan air fleet, it played a role in key military expeditions throughout the 3rd century. While all examples of the class were lost in varying incidents, aspects of its design have informed several generations of airships to follow, including a large number of civilian transports seen today. The most well known of these design aspects was the Resolute Modular Architecture, which enabled each of the four ships built to be uniquely outfitted for their specific roles without requiring extensive modification of the base design. This capability greatly reduced refit and overhaul costs, enabling these four vessels to be regularly updated as new technology became available. As a result, these ships were never decommissioned, and continued in service until they were destroyed or lost. Nearly all airships manufactured today utilize some form of this modular architecture."
History of Airship Design
Power Generation
The Resolve features an upgraded HIAT HCPS-401 series hydrogen combustion power stack.
Propulsion
Four Hiat CDET-550 Electric Rotor-turbine engines mounted in a twin stack configuration.
Weapons & Armament
The Resolve features two composite alloy 105mm Long range siege artillery cannons. A battery of twelve, 40mm precision medium range auto-loader cannons, and eight 20mm broadside rotary cannons. This configuration is optimized for air to ground combat operations utilizing incendiary, canister, and ground penetrating ammunition.
Resolute cruisers also possess a battery of twelve vertical belly drop cruise missile bays capable of deploying a number of ultra heavy weapons for target acquisition and elimination over the horizon or otherwise beyond visual range. The use of such ordinance requires remote guidance or the presence of a spotter near the target.
Armor and defense
Military grade ballistic composite, with anti incendiary multilayer foam.
