Spirit Champion

A spirit champion is a mighty warrior who embraces the spirits, to assist him in his battles. He strengthens his spiritual connection until he can feel the spirits flowing within his body and thoughts, strengthening his arms and quickening his mind. Whispered fragments impart insight into battle as ancestors speak of ways to overcome all foes. The spirit champion ceases to fight for his own reasons; he battles to honor the spirits and to further their wishes. Often these wishes coincide with his own, but occasionally the spirit champion embarks on a path for reasons that are unclear to him. Spirit Whispers

Spirit Champions have such a strong connection with the spirits around them that whispers bypass the normal means of understanding and bleed into the spirit champion’s subconscious mind. Through this connection, they are able to gain great insight into situations.

Gain a +3 to Perception, Survival, and Insight. Additionally, gain Spirit Whisper: Once per Encounter learn the true intentions of any non-elite NPC including information such as combat tendencies and weaknesses, personality, and purpose in life or in that mission. Useable only after the first round.

 

Class Toolkit Abilities are a wide range of class spells and abilities that you can pick from. Each one will rank up to a level 2 version at level 4 which unlocks their most potent and versatile uses. You may pick 3 of these Class Toolkits to apply to your character but choose carefully. Once you choose you can only relearn new Abilities through completion of RP Quests which can replace abilities that you have learned that you wish to change.

Incorporeal Strike Unlike Spiritwalkers who transcend into the spirit realm to learn and avoid damage Spirit Champions have developed a unique combative ability when in an Incorporeal state. These crippling blows still deal physical damage but also can rip apart the soul within the body. Turn yourself Incorporeal for 2 rounds. During those 2 rounds, you cannot be attacked by non-sprit weapons and your critical strike ceiling can be reached with modifiers. Also, gain Spirit Strike: Strike an enemy with a blow from the spirit realm that deals 4 damage. Useable once per Encounter. Turn yourself Incorporeal for 2 rounds. During those 2 rounds, you cannot be attacked by non-sprit weapons and your critical strike ceiling is lowered from 20 to 18 and can be reached with modifiers. Also, gain Spirit Strike: Strike an enemy with a blow from the spirit realm that deals 5 damage. Useable once per Encounter.
Combat Instincts Sorrounded by and aided by the Spirits in nearly every aspect of life Spirit Champions rely upon and trust them with their whole being. As a result, they wear little to no armor as a show of that respect and in turn, the Spirits warn or straight up interfere on behalf of the Spirit Champion to protect them from ever being touched in combat. When a Critical Stike attack of any kind gain the chance to use a Reflex Save. Roll above a 17 to dodge the strike completely, rolling 13 up to 16 you only take half damage. At random you may be saved from a damaging strike once per encounter. When a Critical Stike attack of any kind gain the chance to use a Reflex Save. Roll above a 13 to dodge the strike completely. If you roll 17 or above turn the critical strike back on the attacker. At random you may be saved from a damaging strike twice per encounter.
Strength of the Past The spirits that you champion are warrior spirits of the past. Valliant protectors of their people and powerful combatants that infuse the body of a Spirit Champion with unearthly strength and fortitude. Gain a permanent +3 to Strength and Constitution. Cannot be taken alongside Wisdom of the Past. Gain a permanent +4 to Strength and Constitution and +2 to Dexterity. Cannot be taken alongside Wisdom of the Past.
Wisdom of the Past The spirits that you champion are wise councilor spirits of the past. Diligent protectors of their people and skillful spell casters that infuse the body of a Spirit Champion with unearthly knowledge and magical abilities. Gain a Permanent +3 to Intellect and Wisdom. Cannot be taken alongside Strength of the Past Gain a permanent +4 to Intellect and Wisdom and +2 to Charisma. Cannot be taken alongside Strength of the Past.
Spirit Avatar Some Spirit Champions take on the skills and abilities of a single or just a few individual spirits. Drawn together for their common passions and abilities these spirits can take over the body of a Spirit Champion and live again for a short time through the body. Lending their knowledge, power, abilities, and strengths to the situation. Choose a Spirit of Skyrunner to Empower you for 3 rounds. For those three rounds you take on the personality, abilities, stats and spirit image of the dead and each one takes on specific Attributes. These Attributes are assigned once you take on a Spirit to Champion. Useable once per Encounter. Choose a Spirit of Skyrunner to Empower you for 2 rounds. For those three rounds you take on the personality, abilities, stats and spirit image of the dead and each one takes on specific Attributes. These Attributes are assigned once you take on a Spirit to Champion. You can choose between two different Spirits. Each one is only Useable once per Encounter.
