Wailing Plains

The Wailing Plains are a vast, desolate expanse of rock and dust that stretches across much of Hades’s surface. This barren landscape is known for the powerful winds that sweep across it, creating the eerie, mournful sounds that give the Plains their name. The Wailing Plains are largely uninhabited, with only a few scattered observation posts and waste disposal sites dotting the landscape.

Notable Landmarks:

• Observation Post Alpha: A small, fortified outpost located on the edge of the Wailing Plains, where researchers and security personnel monitor the planet’s weather patterns and geological activity. Observation Post Alpha is one of the few places on the surface where life can be sustained for extended periods, but it is isolated and bleak, with little in the way of comfort or amenities.
• The Shattered Monolith: A massive, broken stone structure located in the center of the Wailing Plains. The origins of the Monolith are unknown, but it is believed to be a remnant of an ancient civilization or perhaps a failed experiment from the early days of the penal colony. The Monolith is considered cursed by the inhabitants of Hades, and few dare to venture near it.
