Tartarus Rift is the largest and most important mining city on the planet, built into the side of an active volcano. It serves as the central hub for all mining operations on Tartarus . The city is a sprawling complex of industrial facilities, worker habitats, and fortified corporate headquarters, all connected by a network of tunnels and transport systems carved into the volcanic rock.

• The Red Foundry: The heart of Tartarus Rift’s industrial complex, The Red Foundry is the largest processing plant on the planet. Here, raw ores and minerals are smelted and refined into usable materials. The Foundry operates around the clock, its massive furnaces and smelting pits glowing with molten metal.
• The Core: The central administrative and corporate headquarters of Tartarus Rift, The Core is a heavily fortified tower that rises above the rest of the city. It houses the offices of the planet's corporate overseers, security forces, and the central command for all mining operations. The Core is also where the planet’s geothermal energy is harnessed and distributed.
• The Worker Barracks: A sprawling network of living quarters for the thousands of workers who toil in the mines and refineries. Conditions in the barracks are harsh and cramped, with little in the way of comfort or privacy. The barracks are located deep underground, shielded from the planet’s toxic atmosphere and volcanic activity.
