Black Pits

The Black Pits are a series of underground quarries and mining tunnels located near the equator of Tartarus. These pits are notorious for their brutal working conditions and high mortality rate, as they are prone to cave-ins, gas leaks, and sudden eruptions of magma. The Black Pits are often used as a dumping ground for political prisoners, criminals, and those deemed expendable by the corporations.

Notable Landmarks:

• Pit Zero: The largest and oldest of the Black Pits, Pit Zero is a labyrinth of tunnels and caverns that has been mined for decades. It is said that entire sections of Pit Zero have been abandoned due to their instability, and that the tunnels are haunted by the ghosts of those who perished there.
• The Warden’s Tower: The central command post for the Black Pits, where the overseers and security forces monitor the activities of the prisoners and workers. The Warden’s Tower is a grim, imposing structure that serves as both a control center and a prison, with cells for those who are deemed too dangerous or rebellious to work in the pits.
