Ember Brimstone
The Fire Genasi Ranger, age 30 ○ Ember is a chaotic good being with a quick, fiery temper that he seeks to learn how to better control. In his youth, his temper cost him his twin brother when he stood up to someone older and stronger than he, who took offense to his bravery and murdered his brother and left Ember beaten and near-death. Ember is originally from Blackfire, where a brave or perhaps foolish adventurer romanced the fabled fire genie of the volcano and begot her twin Genasi babies. The adventurer did not survive the toxic, flaming island long enough to see the birth of his children, and the heartbroken genie sent them away to the Isle of Esker before they were even old enough to remember her face. Because of the abandonment and loss he has faced, Ember is very slow to trust. Even on Esker, most who have shown him care as a lad sought only to make use of him, either of his fiery nature or seeking to unlock some innate genie power. When he lost his best friend, his twin brother, due to his own temper, his faith in others dwindled even more. Nevertheless, for those who do manage to gain his trust, Ember is a fiercely loyal friend. He is most loyal to the man who rescued him in his youth, Hitokiri, despite Hitokiri not showing him the same amount of loyalty in return.
