Tatius fought in the Van Myr Army for several years before leaving for undisclosed reasons. He served as an auxiliary member of the militia outside Heute for the years to follow, without any noticeable distinction, before joining with an expedition to the New World to join in with Hampsterdam. Tatius was hand-picked by
Julia Herelia Marion to be Captain of the Guard.
He is pock-marked but handsome, with a bit of a cruel edge to his professional demeanor. He has been nothing but polite and responsive to the guardians and the leaders, but especially so to fellow citizens of Van Myr.

Joey the Sorcadin notes that Tatius has a lot of loyalty amongst the rank and file town guard, and appears to have extended his network to some of the locals
Tatius spends most of his days in the city barracks both protecting the wealth of the city and administrating the city guard, which is a more than full-time task given the chaotic nature of the town and how spread thin the city watch are. He appears to be very involved in the job, working on maps, schedules, and staffing assignments. He bunks in the barracks as well, barely a room to call his own. When not working he does find time to drink, but as sternly and professional as he works, often near the men but not partaking in their celebrations. He spends at least half an hour a day training with his sword and shield in full armor.
Tatius Silica maintains a web of informants at all levels of society but they are mostly run through his three lieutenants :
Tanea Sivilis ,
Cato Vax , and
Braum Kell , with a few exceptions. He sends reports to
Captain Arenna Handt and
Julia Herelia Marion daily with reports on the condition of the city.
Your spies expertly spot an invisible form that appears in the room with
Tatius Silica who hands him an evelope which
Tatius Silica promptly burns after reading. They could not identify anything particular about the clothing or garb of the man but he was clearly of Van ethnicity.
Tatius Silica receives influxes of gold outside of the normal treasury, these appear to be financed by letters of mark extended by
Julia Herelia Marion to various wealthier members of the city. This money is spent on maintaining the City Guard and is also being spread out through the network of informants to points unknown.
