Shrike
"A thousand years the world turned to the tune of gold, the ash was just a blip"No one seems to know anything about this sailor except for his name and the rather heavy East Island accent he possesses. What is certain is that he has gold, and lots of it, and has been recruiting dockworkers and sailors to be prepared for some rather extensive work in the future. Shrike seems to have a sweet tooth for the chocolates that come from Carryl and he frequents the pit fights set up by Jotal Erugbrast . DETECTIVE - Joey the Sorcadin has observed that he appears to be sponsoring laborers to begin hasty work on locations around the docks, laying claim to them. DETECTIVE - Joey the Sorcadin notices he spends time in and around the Galway estate Quintus Bartholomew Marion has his men do what they can to ascertain Shrike's motives, uncovering some additional information. Shrike receives packages containing gold and other items regularly from Carrylean Merchant Ships, transported by the same man, an unnamed Khairne mercenary. The ships vary in name and never register at the docks, but they each fly the Imperial New Carrylean Flag. Sailors that come ashore from the ship travel in groups, not mingling with locals as other sailors, even Carryleans, normally do. Shrike is paying Kat Vilyivitskin monthly, but for unknown purposes. He also seems to have a working relationship with some prominent underworld figures, but which ones you cannot be sure. Shrike sends payments to Meggido weekly on board one of the slim local transports that he brought to Hampsterdam, the 'Ebon Gull'. Given the abundance of this man's financial resources you don't quite feel comfortable approaching him with your meager bribes. The Ebon Gull was plundered by Captain Tork on behalf of Joey the Sorcadin , yielding sundry trade goods but also a ledger indicating many interactions with the Imperial House of Merchants in Nova Caryll
