Chrysanthemum Uprising

The Chrysanthemum Uprising was a part of a series of rebellions caused by the general dissatisfaction of the citizens of Autumn Fields for their new position as a self-governing Grand Duchy under the rule of the Summer Plain. Historically, the area of the Autumn Fields had belonged to the Highlands of Winter, but the governing was moved to the Summer Plain after the defeat of Highlands of Winter in the War of Seasons. The rebels were defeated with very few losses on the Summer Plain's part , but the events following the uprisings eventually lead to a war and subsequently to the birth of The Courtlands and The High Court system.

The Conflict

Prelude

The chain of events that led to the Chrysanthemum Uprising was a complex one, but it is agreed by the historians that one of the main factors was the death of the ruler of the Summer Plain. While the citizens of the Autumn Fields had not been delighted with their new position with the Summer Plain, they had had a greater amount of autonomy than with the Highlands of Winter. However, with the new monarch, the Autumn Fields felt like their rights were slowly but surely taken away from them, leading to the dissatisfaction and the displeasure that eventually caused the uprisings.

Aftermath

While the uprisings and the rebels were defeated, the general dissatisfaction remained. It was one of the many factors that played a part in the starting of the great war that eventually lead to the birth of The Courtlands.
