Ranger

Rangers were the eyes and ears of the forces of good, acting as information gatherers, sharpshooters, trackers, and many more. They were first introduced by Ralthyr Wyronas in 2764 TA, when he took over the Kasuri Athándr. Wyronas himself was a Ranger, the first ever, although many had thought of the idea before on Earth, JRR Tolkien in particular.
A Ranger's objective was simple; hearing without being heard, seeing without being seen, and, in times of war, shooting without being shot. Their gear reflected that. Dark, dull coloured clothing to blend into forest and grassland, including a mottled cloak, minimal armour that could cause noise, much of their equipment serving two purposes so they didn't have to carry as much weight. A good example of this was their bow; they used it both in fights and to hunt. Of course, not all Rangers carried a bow, but a ranged weapon of some sort was encouraged, although crossbows were advised against due to their long reloading time. Gear included a small, one-man tent, a single change of clothes that doubled as a pillow at night, a small, collapsible axe for firewood, and a hunting knife. Most Rangers complemented their bow with a long, slender, sword, ideal for the nomadic life that a Ranger led. The swords weren't as heavy as a regular blade would have been, reducing weight, and many were made of talithil instead of regular steel, making them much stronger. One example of such a sword was Kvÿskva, the blade belonging to Wyronas.
Many Rangers spoke Qëarya and dwarvish, and felt at home among Men, Dwarves, and Elves. They were scattered throughout the Kingdoms, gathering information and then reporting back to whoever their leader was at the time. Even while Wyronas was imprisoned in the Rift, he coordinated the movements of the Rangers through an apparition of himself that he controlled.
While Wyronas was by far the most famed of the Rangers, another notable example was Eltaor Adarí, a Ranger near the end of the Eighth Universal Age.
The Rangers continued for millennia, and although most considered them nosy, interfering, and unneeded, the Seven Kingdoms would surely have fallen without the Rangers.

You are very good at laying out information in a linear and cohesive way that makes use of subtle storytelling in the article. It make reading quiet easy and enjoyable :D

You should check out the The 5 Shudake, if you want of course.
