Talthäyr (TAL-thay-er)
Talthäyr was the blade wielded by Elothar Stormwind, Lord of Idur Athándrï. The name of the blade meant eclipse in Qëarya.
Like all Emagaron, Talthäyr was nearly indestructible, and was a weapon of unmatched efficiency. In addition, it housed the Breiuan of the elf Talyd'ren, which could telepathically communicate with nearby creatures. The sword was keyed to Elothar, and was immovable to all others unless both Talyd'ren and Elothar allowed them to manipulate the sword.
Talthäyr could be used to summon bolts of lightning of devastating potency, as well as employ a limited form of flight.
Appearance
The scabbard was covered in silver scrollwork, with the Arësrian rune for Talthäyr set on the front side. The blade itself was long and slender, made of talithil, with Qëarya runes on both sides. A three-quarter blood channel ran through the middle on either side. The crossguard curved smoothly towards the blade, with the tips slightly wider than the middle. The hand-and-a-half hilt was bound with black leather, and the pommel was made of four silver ribs encasing a brilliant opal that shimmered with all the colours of the rainbow.Properties
Talthäyr was one of the last Emagaron to be created, and was made at a point when the art of creating these blades had been mastered. As such, Talthäyr was not as unstable as some of the earlier Emagaron.Like all Emagaron, Talthäyr was nearly indestructible, and was a weapon of unmatched efficiency.
