Geryland

Common Knowledge

The area that Geryland now stands was once a vast garden. Built and designed by Queen Ruby, the garden and the shrine at its center were named after her. The garden was cared for 224 years before a great earthquake destroyed it. The garden and lands were abandoned and left in ruin.
It was shortly after the assassination Queen Savannah that House Townham took control of the kingdom and Farmers settled the area they would eventualy call Geryland. The farmers found the ground to be very fertile and few knew that the area was once the great Garden of Ruby one thousand years earlier. Over the years the farmers would find eveidence of the garden ruins. It wasn't until they uncovered the Shrine of Ruby that they were able to put a name to the ruins they were finding.
The discovery of the shrine brought the attention of the church. With the church brought several buisnesses that soon grew into what Geryland is today.
Geryland is surounded by the Ruby Forest. There are a handful of small villages that haven't found their way onto a map yet outside that forest, but the closes two villages that are on the map would be Vojharant and Duskcrossing, both of which are a few days travel away. The capital, Tlaug, can be reached by going through Duskcrossing. There is a spring in the forest that feeds the Dregrefrant Fork which feeds into the Enegwenzolon River.
In the Geryland church they worship Tlaloc (life, agriculture, growth), Alignak (Storms, Weather), Kukulkan (Knowledge), and Sobek (War). Other gods are called on occation, but no services to them are held in the chuch.

Geryland has a few people that all residents know, though probably don't speak to daily.

• The local religious expert is Stephon Ceageau, the owner of the church in town.
• The person most knowlegable about the area's history is Galis Holimio, the elven horse ranch owner.
• The person most knowlegable about the local geography is Tyrone Slastur, owner of the Big Game Hunting cabin.
• The person most knowlegable of the arcane is Iruni Rusim, though he is rarely seen.

Known Rumors

Tyrone Slastur's hunting dog has disapeared into the forest. A dog was spoted in the forest, but was hostile on approach. It didn't give chase for it had something it was eating when approached. The dog was discovered to be following orders from the goblins, it is now dead.
There are bandits in the forest that attack many of the carts that leave or enter the town. They have not harrased the farms or houses in town, though they are suspected of the tax house robbery that happened during the festival.
Goblins are operating in the area. Some attacked a farm after the festival. Others attacked a merchant cart on its way into town. It has been discovered that the goblins have been living in a cave that intersects into a buried ruined dwarven building. With more investigation, the goblins have been ordered around by a dragon. Some of whom wants the dragon gone so they can return to their old lives.
