MINERVA
We serve for peace, prosperity and the benefit of all
MINERVA, formally the Mediatory INtERnational Vestan Administration, was a supranational administration and later global government that ruled over the Aurigan System and the Ceryx System, from its founding in 83 up until its dissolution in 221. It was responsible for much of the improvements in the Aurigan system, but its poor management of the Ceryx system proved to be a fatal mistake that eventually resulted in the Interstellar War and its consequences.
Initially created to provide an effective and reliable foundation for global cooperation and maintain peace and security on Vesta, MINERVA is now widely remembered as a corrupt government founded on unreachable, utopic dreams, and its remnants are seen as ghosts of an age now long gone. Many historians and anthropologists have deeply studied MINERVA's downfall, which is now widely attributed to the construction of Convergence Station and the following economic crisis, after which the situation slowly deteriorated.
History
MINERVA was originally founded as a supranational organization tasked with maintaining peace and order throughout Vesta, especially against internal threats such as the Chroniclers of Ops and other terror groups and criminals. This task initially proved to be difficult, especially due to the various penal systems the administration had to handle for each nation. Over time, however, these nations standardized their bureaucracy and provided more and more resources to the administration, witnessing a sharp drop in criminal activity all over the globe. While this was also the result of numerous climate regulations, which greatly appeased the Chroniclers, the numerous strikes happening all over the world followed by an expedited trial severely cut down the various organized crime groups' strength.
Under the watchful eye of MINERVA, the world slowly became peaceful again, with the administration progressively gaining influence over the various nations of Vesta, both thanks to the timely intervention of its elite counter-terrorist forces and its expertise in global logistics and economy. Those unaligned with the administration's dogma were either shunned by all or quietly removed from the political board, leading Vesta's nations to slowly align themselves together into the administration's agenda. As the years passed, the administration became a political, economic and military counselor to all nations, until it eventually became so intertwined in all governmental bodies that it effectively replaced them all, forming a de-facto world government. Few rejected the administration's rule, and even fewer openly stood against it.
