Lake Jondush

One of the 8 great lakes of Veiama. Jondush is the farthest north of the lakes and historically in the territory of the Manashin people, who often camped along its shores. The name Jondush is in the Manashin language, and is usually rendered as "Jandus" when speakng Veiamic .   Manashins believe that the island in the centre of the lake, Jásk, is where the Creator stood to create the world. The lake is seen as the epicentre of all life.   It holds three large islands that take up much of its surface area. Jondush is fed by streams flowing down from the mountains, and is the first major stop for the water before it enters the vast, interconnected lake system of Veiama.
