Ink to the Winds Spell in The Savage Woods | World Anvil

Ink to the Winds

When In to the Winds is played, the ink, charcoal, or graphite used to write a letter is picked up by the musician's tausai and carried to an intended recipient. Upon reaching the recipient, the tausai will look for a blank surface most similar to the one the words came from (e.g., a piece of paper) and deposit the ink precisely as it was written.   The player of Ink to the Winds does not need to know where the recipient is, but they must be able to picture the person clearly and keep their idea of the person in their mind throughout the playing.   If there is no available paper to deposit the writing, the tausai will look for the next best thing - the wall, a table, or even the recipient's skin.   The longer the letter, the more challenging the chant, as they have to keep performing and feeding the magic until all of it has been absorbed.
