If I Were A Dragon
If I was a dragon, born of the skies,
With clouds as my pillow, where the sun softly lies,
I’d weave through the heavens, a shimmering thread,
A dance of the winds where the mortals dare tread.
My scales, like the dawn, would gleam gold and jade,
A thousand hues shifting as daylight would fade.
The rivers would whisper, “Behold our great kin,”
For my breath brings the rain, where life may begin.
If I were a dragon, a guardian of lore,
I’d cradle the wisdom of ages before.
From mountains to oceans, my presence would flow,
A spirit of balance where harmony grows.
I’d not seek destruction, but peace as my creed,
A watcher, a guide, in humanity’s need.
Yet tread not in greed, nor disturb sacred rest,
For even a dragon must temper its zest.
If I were a dragon, in twilight I'd soar,
Between realms of the living and myth evermore.
A symbol eternal, both fearsome and kind,
A dream of the ages, unbound and unconfined.
