The Hunt Lodge
Hunt Lodges (very different from hunting lodges) are effectivly "temples" to Malar. To outward appearances, they closely resemble a normal hunting lodge/hunter's guild. However, this lodge is dedicated to Malar's Hunt and their favored prey are humanoids.
Tenets of Faith
Lodge Membership
Joining the Lodge
A supplicant to join the Hunt Lodge must fulfill two reqirements.
- Supply a prey-beast for the hunt. If the supplicant chooses, this can be themselves. If the supplicant survives, it is automatically accepted as a member with the designation "worthy prey." However, they may only become a full member by completing the second requirement.
- Complete a kill during a hunt witnessed by at least two lodge members in good standing.
Member Obligations
Unless otherwise noted, member obligations are to be fulfilled annually.- Support the lodge by the purchase of a hunt license. Members who purchase a license, but do not present a trophy to the Huntmisstress risk a downgraded membership.
- Promote the Lodge by recruiting an intitate, or nominating a prey-beast and paying the appropriate bounty.
- Participate quarterly in a hound hunt, or event at the Lodge
- Provide a worthy prey for the Final Hunt. Members with compromised standing as well as worthy prey must enter the annual lottery.
Member Priviledges
Dependent on maintaing member-in-good-standing status.- Safety: Lodge member's immediate family gain "protected prey" status.
- Training: the lodge will host training events quarterly, including instruction in stalking, tracking, and dressing the carcass.
- Blessing of Malar: Members of "master" status and above may be offered the HuntLord's Blessing.
- Vengence: If a member is struck down by any (unless by a preybeast in a licensed hunt), the Lodge will nominate all guilty parties for prey status, with an appropriate bounty.
