Oakhurst
This small village used to go by the name New Zalantar a couple years ago. Back then the town had a series of unfortunate events that lead the survivors to change it’s identity or be isolated from the world. Now known as Oakhurst, the village survives by being an exporter of oak and by being a frequented stop on one of the caravan trails. Hundreds of years before the Second Event, was the First. The temple of Illumination was swallowed up by the earth. Today, this place is known as the Sunless Citadel and unknown to the people in the town, a Druid and some Goblins had taken up residence in this place, and now it seems to have once again attracted the attention of the Cult of the Dragon.
Demographics
Mostly human with a sizeable minority of halflings. There’s a scattering of other races including but not limited to, half-elves, dwarves, and half-orcs
Government
There is a mayor in charge of making all final decisions, but there is a small group in which he holds council with.
Defences
The town’s primary defense is it’s location as it is rather out of the way. Only people intending on going here find their way. It is off the main caravan road, down the aptly named New Road. The Old Road used to be the most direct route, and Oakhurst saw a lot more trade in those days, but a crack was opened up in the earth that swallowed everything in it’s wake, severing and taking most of the Old Road with it.
Industry & Trade
This community has quite a nice lumber yard where they mill and build furniture from oak wood. This is their primary export.
Guilds and Factions
The Cult of the Dragon seems to be taking and interest in this location once again.
